Thom created a 50’s hipster Jazz vibe for this card. He first selected his jazz player from Tim Holtz Paper Dolls Portraits and then used the Stampers Anonymous Carved Instruments stamps with Ranger Archival Ink Black Soot. He cut out squares with his instruments and colored them with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass. He went over the outline of each instrument with Distress Paint Picket Fence and then added some highlights with Tim Holtz Holiday Blocks and Big Tidings.

Andrea chose a record theme for her tag, which she made using Concord & 9th’s Greatest Hits die set. She also used Wendy Vecchi’s Open Dots stamp and Dina Wakley’s Healing and Light stamp set for the background imagery. A little scrap of music paper from La La Land’s Spring Song paper tops off her tag.

Anna-Karin made a tag inspired by a song, which is sadly just as relevant today as when it was written almost 40 years ago. She used Tim Holtz Vault World Travel die set to die cut the globe and the title. The continents were die cut from kraft paper and coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

Kath created a page in her Stamperia Mixed Media Journal with a nod to the bird song symphony she enjoys every morning from the green finches and sparrows in her garden. She used Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Planks Background Cling Stamp, Idea-ology Serendipity Collage Paper, 49and Market Spectrum Gardenia Rub-onTransfers and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Feathered Friends and Alphanumeric Theory Thinlits.

Macarena made an Art Journal page with a background full of music notes from Hero Arts Collage Backgrounds Part Two Transfer Rub ons. She used Tim Holtz Idea-ology Collage Layer Frames and the Simon Says Stamp Tim Holtz Forgotten Garden Bundle set of stamps and coordinated dies.

Maura created a band to play some jazzy tunes for you in her art journal. She used Tim Holtz’s Hipster stamps, cut the images out with her Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail Scissors, and added some bright colors to the background, like Dina Wakley’s Stoked Gloss Media.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Lesia Zgharda Music Fox Clear Stamp on the background, and decorated it with Tim Holtz Idea-ology CLIPPINGS Sticker Book and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Quote Chip Labels.

Zoey used Tim Holtz Idea-ology AVIARY Collage Paper for her background and added color with Distress Paint and Distress Mica Stain. She decorated her tag with a paper doll and some clippings from Ideaology

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!

This week we’re welcoming the super talented Thom Santilla  into the Designer Spotlight. If you haven’t visited him on Instagram before then you are in for a real treat!

Thom made a panel using a Tim Holtz Vault Watch Gears die set and a boy from Paper Dolls Solo. For the background he used a Digits Layerin Stencil  along with  Picket FenceBrushed Pewter and Lost Shadow Distress Paints mixed with Translucent Grit Paste. He added layers of Uncharted Mariner, Scorched Timber, Chipped Safire, Hickory Smoke, and Weathered Wood Distress Oxides. He then used Idea-ology Gadget Gears and Mini Gears in the foreground and background. He finished with an Alphanumeric Tiny Type sentiment.

Andrea made a card using Tim’s Mini File Folders and Paperdoll Portraits. She made plenty of patterns in the background using Tim’s Bubble stencil and Stars stencil, along with his Remnants, Sideshow and Mixed Media 2 stamp sets. She also added in some Embellishments Fabric tape and a Thoughts Label Sticker.

Anna-Karin made a tag with a time theme and a vintage watch this week. It was mainly created with Tim Holtz Vault Watch Gears set. The title was die cut with the Vault Word Travel set and the background was painted with Distress Paint.

Barbara created a tag “all things Tim Holtz” using a mix of old and new products! She chose Sizzix Vault Picture Show, Simon Says Stamp Curiosity Shop Wafer Dies, Stampers Anonymous Curiosity Shop stamp set, Layering Stencils: Spots, Mini Set 1, Mini Set 5. She completed her project by adding Idea-Ology Paper Dolls and Ranger Distress Texture Paste Opaque.

Cheiron created a background with the Tim Holtz Halftone and Rings background and Distress Inks. She added a Paper Dolls Portraits as her focal point and used lots of Idea-ology, including the Cello Sticker Tape, Postmarked Sticker Book and Typed Tags.

Kath decorated a Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Etcetera Square Panel with paper from Idea-ology Backdrops Volume 4, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Paint by Number, Curiosity Shop, Mini Layering Stencils from Sets 21 and 43 and used Idea-ology Paper Dolls Poses as the main feature. For the title she used an old favourite, Idea-ology Alpha Transparent Tiles and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tiny Type Upper Thinlits.

Macarena made a slim card using her new toys: Tim Holtz Mr. Rabbit and Paint By Number stamp sets. She also used the great Simon Says Stamp Paint By Number coordinated dies.

Maura was inspired by her recent trip to New York City to create her tag. She used Tim Holtz’s The Inspector stamp set, Tim Holtz Colorblock Fabric, and Tim Holtz Abandoned Paper Stash.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Tim Holtz Idea-ology PAPER DOLLS PORTRAITS on the background, and decorated it with Tim Holtz Idea-ology INDUSTRIAL GEARS Embellishments and Tim Holtz Idea-ology SENTIMENTS Label Stickers.

Zoey used the whole Tim Holtz Sizzix Vault Watch Gears Thinlits to decorate her rusty tag. She also used DIstress Ink Paint and Oxide Spray to add color. A little bit of Tim Holtz Ideaology Ephemera and she also added texture to the clock by using Tim Holtz Idea-ology Texture Hammer

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
